I love being here in Saskatchewan, the people are great and there are amazing stories still to be told. It’s an exciting time to be here because the real opportunity is taking a local story and turning it into something that people from other parts of the world will find interesting. And with the help of Creative Saskatchewan, I feel that goal is within reach.
There is a lot to see here that people don’t realize. The boreal forest up north, the incredible cityscapes and rivers in Saskatoon. The lakes and rolling hills. There’s a ton of variety. And, of course, the soundstage in Regina provides a lot of opportunities for production companies.
98% all of the grant money we received from Creative Saskatchewan stayed here in the province…The reason we have a successful show is because we had a great all-Saskatchewan team with excellent attitudes and talent, and the support of Creative Saskatchewan.
We wouldn’t have had this opportunity if it weren’t for the support from Creative Saskatchewan. It really puts Sask filmmakers and artists on equal grounds with those from the rest of the country.
I was able to hire primarily Saskatchewan people and work in Saskatchewan which provided economic spinoffs in the service industries and for organizations and businesses that supplied our materials and other needs such as accommodations, meals, and transportation. My projects also attracted other broadcasters to consider working with people from Saskatchewan.
Every dollar invested from Saskatchewan triggers many more from elsewhere and the way we spend stimulates a disproportionate amount of economic spin off…We spend a lot of money quickly and that acts to stimulate local economies in a very healthy way.
This will be the fourth and fifth production we have done in the province over the last 18 months, and we are very thankful for the support of the Creative Saskatchewan Production grant. We feel this incentive is the best in Canada!
